Happy Halloween

Today it is halloween yaaaaay! In my science class today we did a experiment, which was fun. Today in my school we had Parent-Teacher-Student-Conference. That is when you go with your parents to see your teachers and talk with them. I think it went well! When I came home from school, which was later then usual I went to go Trick or Treat with my friend Sophie! I was a dressed as a mean queen haha! Now, in the evening my parents had a Reception at our house, so I'm now in the club house with my brother, his friend and my mum's friend's kids.

A midsummer night's dream

Yesterday in my Mandarin class, they had this huge argument about which character should go last in a sentence haha. It was hilarious! In my humanities class I showed the video I had made, about child labour in Ghana. Since it was Wednesday I had Faust. In Faust we learnt the meaning of some of the things Puck (I'm not really sure how you spell Puck) in 'A midsummer night's dream' says. We also  learnt some Shakespeare insults haha! Then we had to act out the scene Puck was saying, in a group of three people.
When I came home, we had ordered a cake for my mum's friend's son who's birthday was on Tuesday. He likes Spider Man so we got him a Spider Man cake. My mum had bought nail polish which glows in the dark. Which I wore today for Halloween!

Today we were not that many in my class, a lot of people were at home. Since quite a few were at home, in my English class we watched the program TED about poetry haha!
Now I actually know what I am going to be for halloween. At first I wanted to be 'Alice in wonderland' but then I couldn't find the right costume for it, so I decided to be sort of like a vampire/witch girl!

Flat Stanley

Last year our family's friend's daughter from the U.S, sent me a letter about Flat Stanley. Flat Stanley is a book about a boy who goes on adventures. In the letter there was also a drawing of her as they are supposed to send their selves as Flat Stanley. I was supposed to write a little about Hong Kong and then mail it back to her! So this year I am doing the same thing but for their friend, because they thought I did a good job doing it last year. It was fun, and I was happy to help!

Saint Germain

Today we took it quite easy. I worked on a Summative project/assessment. My mum's friend and her family's plane got cancelled, so instead of coming this afternoon as they were supposed to they are coming at midnight.

For dinner my family and I went to a French restaurant which is called 'Saint Germain'. The food there was really good!

Cherry toe post shoes

These are a pair of shoes, that I first saw in a store and I really liked them. But then when I was going to buy them I couldn't find them anywhere. But then I found them at Amazon and I got really happy! Because I had literary looked for them everywhere and I almost gave up but then I found them. So then my mum told me that I could have them as a present because we had been living here in Hong Kong for two years! We ordered them and now they have arrived, wohho! I'm soo happy! They are Anna Sui for Hush Puppies shoes!

Friday

Today it is Friday wohhoo! This week I have been busy, with quite a lot of assessments. But this week has also gone very fast. Today my mum came back which is nice! Tomorrow my mum's friend and her family is coming in the afternoon.

Wednesday & Thursday

Yesterday in school my classmate and I presented a PPT about caffeine! We had to choose a drug and then do a PPT about it, almost everybody took illegal drugs so we took caffeine. It went well!

In the evening I had Faust. In Faust this time, we learnt a little about the play 'Much ado about nothing'. Then we learnt how to speak it with like the emotions! Yesterday my dad came home, and on Friday my my is coming! 

Today, I had a Mandarin oral assessment! 

We had to speak about a holiday we had been to, for two minutes. We were only aloud  to have que cards, the rest we had to remember. It was quite hard, but I think it went well! 

In my technology class, my two classmates and I had made an animation that contained the design cycle. Today we presented it, everybody seemed to like it, so that was fun!

Today it is Tuesday, which means my last two lessons were photography, which was nice! In my photo class we learned how to change a face into like a scary face. (not a very good explanation but I will show you a picture) It is not that scary, but it was still fun to do it!
On Friday my dad left to Sweden and yesterday my mum left to Sweden haha. Well so my brother and I are here alone with our helper, so we are actually not alone haha! This Saturday my mum's friend and her family are coming here to Hong Kong to visit us, they are staying for a week!
This week we have a lot of Summative assessments, ugh. Hope you all had a good day!

National day

Today we had 'National day' at my school. Which means that you are supposed to wear the colors of the flag your country has, and or something to do with your country or represents your country.  I didn't really have anything in yellow and blue and I couldn't really find anything that represents or has anything to do with Sweden well well... But I at least wore a pair of blue tights and a color full shirt haha! But it was fun! Today when we had P.E, we got assessed on how we played Badminton. Our skills got assessed and then it goes on our report card. I don't really get why we have to be assessed on our skills since everybody is more or less good at Badminton well well. Now you may think I am complaining, but I'm not I just do not completely understand why we have to be assessed on it, since different people are more or less good at it, but I guess we just have too... But you guys know what I mean right? Ok so anyways now 'Spirit week' is over, but it was a fun week!

When my cousins were here, my mum had bought me some clothes, which I mentioned in another post. I also said I would maybe show you guys them in another post. Which I decided to and here it is.

I got three things, and I really like them! :) 

1. A black blouse/shirt.

2. A bikin top, I really like the colours. 

3. A pair of glitter thights! 

Spirit week

This week in my school we have 'Spirit week'. I think we have it because all the other schools have like holiday and we had half weeks for like five weeks instead. So maybe they are having Spirit week so school is a bit more fun when all the other schools are having holiday, that is what I think but I could be completely wrong!

Movie character day

Today we had 'Movie character day' at my school. It was fun! But I wasn't dressed up as a character because I didn't know what character I should be, but then I realized I could be 'Annie' but then I had to make my hair curly and then it was all kind of too late and yeah. So I wore free dress hehe. But I thought it was fun to see what the other people were wearing. One girl form my class was dressed as 'Danny' and one as 'Sandy' from the movie Grease haha. In lunch recess they were showing the tv show 'Modern family'.
When my friends and I were leaving school, we saw a LOT of smoke coming out of a vent from a restaurant a cross the street from our school. It was so much smoke you couldn't even see the street. So at first we were like WOW that is a lot os smoke, then we realized it was a fire. Later there came six fire trucks, one police car and one ambulance! I hope nobody got hurt!

Fairtrade

In my humanities class, we are doing a project about child labour  happening today. I choose to do child labor in Ghana in Africa. Where many children are involved with child labour. If you didn't know if I'm not wrong, Ghana in Africa produces over 50% percent of the chocolate in the world. That is a lot. A lot of children there are sent a way to work at cocoa farms, in order to help their families survive. You may think that it is not that bad, but when the kids relatives send them away they don't know what danger they are putting the child in. The children have very bad living conditions and they get very little education if they even get education. Just think of a child who is five to seventeen years old working in a cocoa field, more then 12 hours a day! It doesn't sound right does it? So if you buy chocolate that doesn't have a fairtrade symbol on it, the chocolate may have involved child labour. BUT if you buy chocolate with a fairtrade mark on it it has not been involved with child labour! I'm not saying this because I want to advertise 'Fairtrade' or not make you enjoy your chocolate. I am saying this because I think people should know about it!

Pajama day

Today we had pajama day at my school! It was fun. It was very comfy haha, but it was nice to wear your pajamas in school. Today I didn't have Faust because, they have one week of holiday. But in my school we had half weeks for like five weeks instead. Have any of you had a pajama day or anything like that in your school?

Crazy hat day

Today it was 'crazy hat day' at my school, it was fun! We could wear free dress! In my music class today we had a quiz. It was a Summative quiz which means it goes on our report card. I don't really understand why we have to be assessed on music, but I guess it is because we have to learn but I still don't really understand well well... Today in lunch time, we had a football match students vs teachers. The students won yaaay!

Monday-public holiday

Today it was a public holiday. In the late morning I had to take care of my brother, because my mum had a yoga class and my dad wanted to attend it. It was fun to be with my brother! For lunch we went to our sushi place. It may seem like we love sushi but we just like it, and they happen to have amazing sushi at that place haha! Later we went to have coffee. In the late afternoon my mum left to Shanghai, but she will be back on Wednesday! Tomorrow we have 'crazy hat day'at my school, I wonder what I'm going to wear. How was your Monday?

Cousins leaving

Today in the evening my cousins left to go back to Germany. It was super fun to have them here! But I'm going to miss them loads!!!!! :(

Forever 21

Today my two cousins Erik and Hanna, went to visit my school. They visited some classes and stuff. It was very fun to have them there! Today I actually had my first P.E lesson for this year haha! The first time I was sick then I was in Sweden and then last Friday I went to pick up my cousins at the airport. In between all this we had half weeks, so that meant no school on Fridays! Ok so anyways after school today I went to meet up with Hanna and my aunt. We went to A&F and Forever 21! At Forever 21 I got a pair of thights/jeans! It was a very nice day :)

Two tests

Today in school I had two tests. One in French and one in Mandarin. I think it went well! After school I had Faust. It was fun, we learnt about Macbeth (the play not the person). We also learnt how to read Shaksperian! When I came home my mum had bought some clothes, maybe I can show you guys it in another post. Later my aunt, cousin and me went down to the jacuzzi in the club house! It has been a nice day :)

Prêt a manger!

Today after school on my way home I went by 'Prêt a manger', which I call 'Pret' haha! Ok so anyways, at Pret I bought a chocolate chip cookie! They have really nice sandwiches and cookies and other foods. The chocolate chip cookie there is very good! The thing about Pret is that they don't only have good foods but when they close at night the food that nobody bought, they give to homeless people! I find that very nice! I think you can find Pret in New York, London and Hong Kong! Have any of you been to Pret before?

American Apparel

 I got a pair of thights from my cousin Alma, who works at American Apparel in Paris. They are really nice! They look like the pants 'Sandy' in the movie Grease is wearing in the end!

Weekend with the cousins!

Here is a bit about what we did this weekend with my cousins! 

Friday: I went to school half day, then we went to pick them up at the airport. In the evening we showed them the Peak and went to Vietnamese restaurant for dinner! 

Saturday! We had rented a boat, and we went out with my cousins and friends to swim and just to have a nice time, which we did have :) 

Sunday: We had sort of like a brunch. Later we went out to show them Central and Soho. We had an early dinner at our favourite sushi place! Afterwards we went to a huge shopping mall!

Cousins coming today!

Today my cousins are coming! Woohhhooo! Today I had to leave before lunch so we could go to the airport and meet them. Since my cousins are here, it may not be the best update on the blog since I want to spend time with them and not be much in front of the computer. Hope you guys understand! 

Open day!

Today my school had open day, which means parents and kids can come and look at the school. Because my school had open day we had to wear our formal uniform, which is with a blazer, tie and blouse. Normally we only wear a polo shirt, a skirt and a jacket if it is cold. Today in my Science class we did an heart beat experiment, where we had to see how different things affect your heart beat. My group choose to do exercises, we did exercises such as skipping rope, running and sit ups for two minutes. First you have to calculate your normal heart beat and then calculate your heart beat exactly after you did your exercise to see the difference. It went well!
My cousins are coming tomorrow!! :)
